DA demands probe into 'blue-light bullies' death

THE DA has demanded a full investigation into the death of an elderly woman who was run down by the car of provincial Rural Development and Agrarian Reform MEC Zoleka Capa in the Mount Frere CBD last week.

Referring to the death of Nomvume Dabula, 77, as the work of "blue-light bullies", DA provincial leader Athol Trollip said Dabula's family had contacted the party to ensure there was no cover-up.

Trollip said DA MPL Bobby Stevenson, who sits on the safety and security portfolio committee, would table a set of parliamentary questions regarding the incident. "On the face of it, this is a clear case of negligent and reckless driving," Trollip said. - Barbara Hollands
