Alleged poachers appear in court
TWO alleged rhino poachers appeared briefly in the Tzaneen Magistrate's Court yesterday on charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
The suspects – Christopher Botha, 24, of Makhado, and Louis Andrew, 22, of Tzaneen – were granted R2000 bail each.
The case was postponed to May 28 for further investigation.
The two were arrested at a farm near Letsitele on Saturday. Limpopo police said they followed up on information about possible rhino poaching in the area.
Police cordoned off roads leading to and from the farm, stopped a vehicle and made the arrests.
