Road death toll increases to 103

AT least 20 people have died in car accidents in the Eastern Cape since Thursday morning but this figure may change as officials finalise the numbers this week.

The 20 are among 103 killed on the country's roads, according to the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), but the figure excludes accidents recorded yesterday as holidaymakers returned home after the long weekend.

Transport Minister Dipuo Peters is expected to announce the updated figures later this week. - Gareth Wilson
