Steenkamp family bans any further media interviews

AS the week-long, emotionally charged cross-examination of murder accused Oscar Pistorius came to an end this week, the grieving Steenkamp family has called a halt to media interviews.

This is according to the family's Port Elizabeth-based lawyer, Dup de Bruyn, who, said the family had given an instruction to its members that no more interviews be given.

De Bruyn, who has been associated with the family, and specifically grieving parents June and Barry Steenkamp, since before the start of the sensational trial, has often been seen at June's side in the Pretoria High Court where the trial has been playing out for almost seven weeks. - Shaun Gillham
