Cop seeks bail after teen's rape ordeal

A YOUNG Port Elizabeth girl kicked and screamed as a police officer allegedly dragged her from her bed in the middle of the night before raping her for several hours, a court heard yesterday.
When he eventually fell asleep, the 14-year-old girl took his cellphone and contacted the man's wife at work for help.
This harrowing testimony was heard in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court yesterday, where the 46-year-old policeman was applying for bail. - Kathryn Kimberley
