Blonde lawyer on stabbing charge

NELSON Mandela Bay Municipality’s assistant director for labour law was arrested yesterday after she allegedly stabbed her property developer boyfriend.

It is alleged Lizelle Vermaak, 42, a qualified attorney, smashed several windows at the upmarket property in Fenton Lane, Walmer, before eventually gaining entry during the early hours of Friday.

She allegedly stabbed property developer Simon Mandel, 59, repeatedly with a knife in the hand, arm and leg. Mandel, who had been sleeping and was woken up by the breaking glass, sustained minor injuries.
