Tose gets life sentence for rape of girl, 6

Port Elizabeth High Court Judge Jeremy Pickering sentenced convicted child rapist Xolile Tose, 33, to life in prison on Thursday (03/04/14). His name will also be added to the national sexual offenders register.CONVICTED child rapist Xolile Tose was sentenced in the Port Elizabeth High Court yesterday to life imprisonment for the brutal attack on a six-year-old girl in 2011. Tose, 33, applied for leave to appeal after Judge Jeremy Pickering sentenced him. The application was immediately dismissed.

The judge also made an order that Tose’s name be added to the National Register for Sex Offenders.

On Wednesday, Tose was found guilty of raping the Motherwell girl over a period of 15 hours between December 16 and 17 2011. The girl, who is now eight, was so badly injured she has had to have a series of reconstructive operations. She is also forced to wear a colostomy bag.

Judge Pickering said: “The injuries inflicted on the complainant in this case are the worst I have seen in my 20 years on the high court bench.
