Fear rising after bomb in U'hage

A KWALANGA mother is fearing for the lives of her family after their car was petrol- bombed in their Limekhaya Street driveway. Fundiswa Nombexeza's son, Lunga, is allegedly one of the leaders of the housing protests that have rocked Uitenhage's western suburbs in recent weeks.

Shortly before 11pm on Wednesday, four unidentified men driving a white Volkswagen Polo Playa lit a petrol bomb and placed it under the Nombexezas' blue Toyota Yaris and the car was destroyed. The men were lighting a second bomb when they apparently accidently set themselves alight and fled the scene.
