Life term for prison guard's murderer

AS the dangerous convict who killed his son joked in court shortly after being handed a life sentence yesterday, the elderly father of the prison guard gunned down in a Livingstone Hospital toilet carefully folded up a piece of paper on which he had documented all the details of the case.
"This journey is over now," Themba Funde, smiling sadly, said. He is the father of prison guard Zolile Funde, 37, who died after trying to prevent armed serial offender Sithembile Msutwana, 40, from escaping at Livingstone Hospital in Port Elizabeth on December 13 2010.
