Builder brothers playing the game

PUPILS at a Nelson Mandela Bay high school – who play rugby like pros despite practising on rundown fields not fit for any sports – have had a lifeline thrown to them in a bid to change that.

Arcadia High School in the northern areas has acquired a Good Samaritan in the form of two Port Elizabeth businessmen, brothers Faizal and Sharief Fredericks, who own the Siyaya Khaya construction company.

The pair are fixing up the school's rundown rugby field, having already graded and levelled it, and are now helping the school get quotes for grass patches.

The Fredericks brothers heeded a call by a teacher at the school, Addi Lagerdien, who recently returned from a decade in the UK and was "heartbroken" to see the school in its current state.
