Bay’s motorbikers set to ride in protest over e-tolling scheme
BIKERS from Nelson Mandela Bay will join thousands from around the country who are taking part in a national mass protest ride organised by Bikers Against Tolls (BAT) tomorrow.
The bikers will take to the country's highways to protest against what BAT co-founder James Sleigh calls an "impending and flawed e-toll system, the most inefficient and corrupt system in the country".
Rides will also be held in Johannesburg, Cape Town, East London, Durban and Bloemfontein.
"BAT had its first mass ride in May. We are fighting against the mismanagement of taxpayers' hard-earned money. However, e-tolls could be labelled the top priority on that list.
"The e-tolls and tolling in general are simply a way to further exhaust the already budget-strapped citizens of the country," Sleigh said.
