Helping hand for U'hage matrics


MATRICULANTS in Uitenhage's western district are playing catch-up as a result of chaotic strikes in the region earlier this year – but John Walton Senior Secondary School is doing its bit to help bridge the gap.


The school is in its seventh week of extra classes, open to all matriculants in the Uitenhage district.


Running from Monday through to Thursday between 4 and 8pm, the classes aim to provide a suitable studying environment for the pupils as well as trying to comprehensively cover the work missed in the first term, project coordinator Manie Daniels said.
