National bands to rock Uitenhage
Freshly Ground, Babes Wodumo, Ringo Madlingozi on star-studded line-up
Uitenhage Central Stadium will rock to the sounds of top national acts on Saturday October 6 at the e-Mandulo Cultural and Music Festival.
The line-up includes Freshly Ground, Babes Wodumo, Nokwazi, Ringo Madlingozi, Nathi, DJ Ganyani, DJ Oskido and Lerato Kganyago – plus a whole lot more supporting acts.
The concert is the final part of a Uitenhage cultural festival aimed at promoting indigenous games, plays, story-telling, cultural dances, Afro-music and traditional music.
Oskido, Ganyani and Lerato Kganyago will feature the following DJs: Khabzela, Skhura, Sham de Funk, Pelco, Gee, Tso and Tilosoul;
Babes Wodumo and Nokwazi will feature iFani, Tsviel the Prince, Catalyst and Mloya;
Freshly Ground will be joined by Neo-Soul and Songz;
Ringo and Nathi will perform with the Conquerors and Odwa;
Doors open at 10am and the concert starts at 11.30am, with the action expected to continue until the early hours of Sunday morning.
There is an age restriction of no under 18s, and there is a cash bar and refreshments at the venue on the corner of Market and Mitchell Street. Cameras, blankets, picnic baskets and folding chairs are permitted and there is free secure parking.
Tickets for general access are R50, and VIP tickets R150, on sale at Computicket.
