WIN a Margarita Moonshine hamper
Having put American-style moonshine firmly on the local drinks menu, Silver Creek Craft Distillery has launched its Margarita Moonshine as the ideal summer party starter or laid-back sundowner.
With its fresh lime-green colour and zingy flavour, Margarita Moonshine was inspired by the easy-going, everyone’s-welcome spirit of a Mexican fiesta, and is the latest addition to the distillery’s range of unaged, small-batch moonshines.
The brainchild of well-known ex-PE hospitality guy Mark Taverner, Silver Creek’s first range of Southern Moonshines snapped up five medals at the Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards within months of launching – and the new margarita version landed a similar coup with a gold medal at the 2018 SA Women’s Wine & Spirits Awards.
“In making the Margarita Moonshine, we wanted to create something laid back and fun-loving.
“The classic Margarita, said to have first originated in a 1930s bar in Tijuana, was the inspiration.
“When you’re drinking our Margarita Moonshine, you’ll feel right there on an endless beach in Cancun or partying in one of the city’s most vibey nightclubs,” promises Taverner, founder and chief distiller of Silver Creek.
Keep it in the fridge, ready to serve straight-up as a shooter, or go margarita-style and serve it over crushed ice in a salt-rimmed glass with a slice of lime – and serve anywhere with relaxed, happy people.
Margarita Moonshine, and the full Silver Creek range, is available locally at Prestons and in selected bars and restaurants, or order online at www.takealot.com.
