Print your own T-shirt design

Custom T-shirts are all the rage at the moment and can set you back a pretty penny.
With all the school days where you need to dress for a certain theme, I came up with a quick and easy way to stay on theme without breaking the bank.
This will also work for birthday themes, depending on the image you use.
This is “T-shirt stencilling” in its easiest form, and I used an icon of Africa for Heritage Day. Here is how to make your own African T-shirt, and it really is so easy.
1. You need fabric paint, a picture of whatever it is you want to have printed on the top, contact paper, a T-shirt, a sponge and a craft knife.
2. Stick your picture on the contact plastic using a glue stick and cut out your design (this creates a sticky stencil).
3. Cut out a little heart for the inside of the picture. Stick down the stencils you have made.
4. Dip your sponge in fabric paint, this creates much cleaner lines than a brush would.
5. Dab paint on the stencil and wait for it to dry.
6. Remove stencil and oooh and aaahhh over what you have created.
