Afrikaans music stars explore hot topics

The Music Kitchen in Newton Park will be the place to be tonight.Award-winning bass guitarist and singer Chris Chameleon and Daniella Deysel perform their Afrikaans musical project Kat en Wolf on stage at the venue.
The pair will perform in Nelson Mandela Bay as part of a national tour.
Having worked together previously on Chameleon’s album Posduif, the idea for this project was born from the desire of the two artists to explore unusual sound, images and costuming outside of their established names.
In Kat en Wolf they deviate from conventional expectations and pressure to produce material for certain tastes – a problem that often haunt artists trying trying to pursue a career in the music business.
Kat en Wolf includes compositions of sections of die Handwoordeboek van die Afrikaanse Taal (HAT), art history books, the electricity of sexuality and the search for the most meaningful exploration of false singing.
These are just some of the aspects of this unusual concert adventure.
Catch Kat en Wolf at the Music Kitchen at 69 Mangold Street tonight at 7.30pm.
Tickets for the show are R120 each. For bookings call 066-200-2765 and for general inquiries call the Music Kitchen on (041)364- 1964.
