PoeticSoul on stage

Lelethu Mahambehlala, better known as PoeticSoul, will perform at the Opera House Barn tomorrow this Sunday for the third instalment of the current cycle of Jazz’Afro Sundays.

The show starts at 5pm and admission is R70, with discounts available for Friends of the Opera House.

Poeticsoul is a self-trained performance poet who left behind a career in law in order to develop her talent in the local underground performing arts scene.

Over the past 12 years she has established herself as one of the most recognised woman poets in South Africa.

PoeticSoul performs with a six-piece band. comprised of Bongani Tulwana on lead guitar, Temba Ncetani on bass guitar, Saki Nompozolo on drums and percussion, Sakhile Mambukwe on trumpet and vocalists Wandile Mbolombo and Babalwa Tshula.

Seating is limited so it is best to arrive early. A cash bar is available in the upper foyer.

The Jazz’Afro Sundays at the Barn are commissioned music shows staged every Sunday. The programme is designed to enhance Bay-based musical brands and provide opportunities for musicians.
