Secret event promises to paint the Bay white

LIVE entertainment, great food and a beautiful setting, all shared with family and friends, is on the cards at what promises to become a leading annual event in Nelson Mandela Bay.

"We hope the Grand White will promote elegance, but in a fun environment that everyone can enjoy," Madelen Johansson, project manager and coordinator for the event, said.

The first ever Grand White event in South Africa will be hosted in Cape Town on March 1, with the Port Elizabeth event on March 8.

Guests are expected to wear all white, with a touch of green, as the inaugural event aims at promoting an environmentally friendly lifestyle.

"For every 100 guests attending a tree will be planted somewhere in the country where it is most needed. All the food and packaging will be picnic- themed and fully biodegradable. Guests are also encouraged to bring plastic and other waste to the event, where it will be disposed of properly."

What makes it more special is that guests only find out where the event will be hosted at the last minute. All they know is that it starts at 3pm, somewhere in Port Elizabeth.
