King and Queens to deliver sweet sounds

POWERFUL voices showcasing silky smooth sounds are making their way to Port Elizabeth this weekend.

Entertainer and impressionist Jayson King and the Musical Queens – Ruth Knight, Kashifa Blaauw, Sumaya Hendricks and Janine Cupido – will perform a string of love and fun songs.

The Queens will cover a wide range of songs by international artists Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Gloria Gaynor, Etta James, Tina Turner and Celine Dion, while also joining together in the style of The Supremes, Three Degrees, The Pointer Sisters and the group from the movie, Dreamgirls.

King will perform songs from the '60s era right through to the present time, covering various genres including jazz, R&B, contemporary, rock 'n roll and more.

Spanish songs like Amor will be rendered in the style of Julio Iglesias, while there's also Engelbert Humperdink's Man Without Love, Michael Buble's Meglio Stasera and Elvis Presley's Can't Help Falling in Love.

Cupido also joins King in a duet of Patrizio and Dana Winner's Life is Beautiful.

The venue is the Boardwalk's Amphitheatre tomorrow at 8pm. Tickets are R100 and available at Computicket or call Jason Gabriel on 082-643-6000.
