Singer, songwriter and self-taught guitar player next up at the PE Opera House

Lwazi “Mo” Mahashe will perform at the PE Opera House’s Jazz Afro Sunday session at the Barn Theatre on Sunday March 10.

The singer, songwriter and self-taught guitar player has two singles currently play-listed on several SA radio stations and his popular singles, Akasemhle and Ndim Nawe, are crowd favourites.

Constantly honing his skills, Mahashe has had the good fortune of working alongside several noted musicians both from the Bay and elsewhere in SA.

These names include the likes of multi-talented musician and producer Bongani “Kora X” Tulwana, Umle and Arthur Mofokate.

He is a beneficiary of the SA Arts Development Association (Saada) has also shared the stage with Ishmael, Mzambiya and CiCi.

Mahashe was cast as one of the lead actors in the feature film Soul Ties and has also appeared in numerous adverts. In addition he is a cameraman for the Bay television programme Vision for Women.

Following Mahashe’s performance this weekend, Jazz Afro Sundays at the Barn will be taking a break. It will be back on April 14 for another round of live performances by Nelson Mandela Bay’s most talented acts.

Jazz Afro Sunday is at 5pm and tickets are R70 (R50 for pensioners). Seating is limited so it is best to arrive early.

The cash bar in the upper foyer opens an hour before the show.
