Judy Boucher, Sybil to perform in Bay

Judy Boucher and Sybil, two singers with huge followings internationally in the 1980s, will perform together at the Boardwalk Lawns on December 1.
The two stars will be supported by Bay musical talents, as well as Cape Town maestro Camillo Lombard and his band.
The concert, which is being brought to the city by Marmalade Productions and CB Entertainment, will start at 4pm and run for six hours.
Sybil achieved worldwide crossover hits with her cover versions of Dionne Warwick's Don't Make Me Over and Walk on By, which were released in 1989 and 1990 respectively. The former became Sybil's biggest hit in the US, peaking at No20, and was a No1 hit in New Zealand.
Sybil's second self-titled album became her biggest-selling album in the US. Besides continuing with her singing career she is currently pursuing an advanced degree in leadership studies and adult education.
Boucher has had international success with many of her songs, including her No1 hit, Dreaming of a Little Island, and Tears on My Pillow; Can’t Be With You Tonight; You Caught My Eye; and My Heart is Yearning.
She is indeed best known for her international hit single Can't be with You Tonight, which reached No2 in the UK Singles Chart in April 1987. Boucher holds the record for being the first female artist from the Caribbean to have the longest stay in the national charts.
She has had a very loyal following in SA and is a regular visitor to this country.
Picnic blankets will be permitted but chairs, folding chairs, picnic baskets, cooler bags, glass objects and cameras may not be brought to the concert. You may also not take your own food and drinks. Golden Circle tickets are R450 and general access is R250. Tickets are available at Computicket, Shoprite Checkers and all House & Home Stores. More information from andre@gailforcemedia.com
