Digby and the Lullaby hit the road with live show

Darren and Roochi Peens take their music to Grahamstown and Nieu Bethesda

Singer-songwriters Digby and the Lullaby are bringing their critically acclaimed live show to the Victoria Hotel’s Acoustic Cafe on Friday, November 16 in Grahamstown followed by a show in Nieu Bethesda on Sunday, December 2 at Die Waenhuis.
This duo will take you on a journey that seems to blur the boundaries between reality and fiction and according to Graham Ward (drummer for Tom Jones, Paul McCartney and Ray Charles), you should miss something else but not this.
Darren and Roochi Peens are originally from the Eastern Cape and both discovered a love for playing music at an early age.
"I wrote my first song when I was seven years old, when I played it for my mom, she did't believe me until I showed her the lyrics I'd scribbled on a piece of paper" says Roochi.
She and Darren love to visit smaller centres.
“The small towns have always fascinated us on our travels around South Africa but we seldom get to stop in for longer than a few minutes,” says Darren.
“This time we’ve singled out Grahamstown and Nieu Bethesda as towns we’d love to play and partnered with two amazing venues to make it happen.”
Digby and the Lullaby have performed for audiences from New York to Bahrain, where they were invited to film five of their songs in the Royal Families private recording studio.
Catch them live at The Victoria Hotel (Acoustic Cafe) in Grahamstown at 8pm on 16 December and at Die Waenhuis in Nieu Bethesda at 4pm on 2 December for a relaxing afternoon of music, canapés and fizz.
Tickets for the Grahamstown show are R100 (students R40) and may be booked at 079-897-0698, e-mail chanel5louise@gmail.com
Tickets for the Nieu Bethesda show are R180 (which includes canapés and a glass of fizz) may be booked at 063-746-8928.
