Ulagh Williams presents 'Songs for the Season'

Eastern Cape Junior Children’s Choir teams up with TwoTone Band for pre-Christmas concert

December starts on a high note for young Bay choristers this year as they join production company TwoTone Music on stage on the first Saturday of the month. The Eastern Cape Junior Children’s Choir (ECJCC) with choristers between five and 10 years old, will perform with Ulagh Williams and the popular TwoTone Band for the first time at Summerwood Primary School on December 1.
"Songs for the Season celebrates a decade of festive season shows for TwoTone,” director Williams said.
“This has always been our favourite show of the year, a tradition we started back in 2008.
"Coincidentally, the Eastern Cape Junior Children’s Choir is also moving into its 10th year of existence, so it is a wonderful anniversary concert for both groups.”
The ECJCC is a popular fixture at Bay festive season events such as Christmas in the Home and the Lovemore Heights Christmas House celebration.
Hanlie Young conducts the choir, accompanied by Lilian Zeelie on piano.
The TwoTone Band, directed by Williams who also plays piano and sings, will feature Grant Allison on bass, Bevin Maschaka on drums and Hez Armoed on guitar.
Jazz trombonist Kyle Du Preez and crooner Robert Gillmer will also join the band.
The 75-minute show will feature the choir on seasonal favourites like Santa Claus is Coming to Town, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus and the beautiful Christmas theme from the movie Home Alone, called Somewhere in My Memory.
The band will perform holiday hits such as All I Want for Christmas, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and I’ll be Home for Christmas which promise to get the audience into the festive spirit.
Table seating is unreserved and patrons are invited to bring along snack baskets and drinks.
To add to the festive feel, Santa will be greeting the young ones in the foyer before the show.
Tickets cost R100 and R80 for school children and pensioners. Songs for the Season starts at 7pm. To book, call Ulagh on 083-627-4686 or Elizna on 082-384-9487. For more information, e-mail info@twotonemuco.za.
