Ecca Poets’ voices join together in new book

‘Throw in your Song’ to be launched in Hogsback

The Ecca Poets are launching a new book, Throw in your Song, in Hogsback on Saturday, October 13.
The volume takes its name from a line in the poem by Ed Burle:
Throw in your song
with the birds;
you may not care for them,
but chances are:
they’re onto something.
The launch will be at 6 for 6.30pm at the Rose Theatre, Starways Arts Centre in the village.
Ecca Poets Brian Walter, Cathal Lagan, Lara Kirsten, Alvené Appollis-du Plessis, Silke Heiss and Ed Burle are joined by new Ecca members Jacques Coetzee and Olwethu Mxoli in their 2018 publication, Throw in your Song.
They describe it as alternatingly melancholic, questing, dancing and pensive in the varied solo voices.
Walter, Mxoli and Heiss will read poems from the book at the launch.
The entry charge of R50 covers wine and snacks and books are on sale for R100.

Booking, and further information, from Silke (SMS or WhatsApp), 074-132-3101 or Gwyneth, 082-928-5770...
