Shining Stars look to future in NMB league

ALTHOUGH they have not won the Mofa Build It Premier League title, Shining Stars are already looking ahead at participating at the next level – the Safa NMB SAB League.

"We may be two points behind Ikamva Movers but we are confident we will beat them this Saturday and win the title," said Stars' coach Roger Klaas.

"The boys have been hard at work and are really focused on winning the match and the league title."

However Movers' coach Ncebisile Namntu cannot see his team stumbling at the final hurdle.

"We are unbeaten this year, winning all our matches and drawing just three.

"There is no way we are going to lose our first match of the season and the league title with it," Namntu said.

Stars and Movers clash in the title decider on Saturday.

The winner will progress to the regional play-offs for a place in the Safa-NMB SAB League.

Four matches which had no bearing on the log standings were played over the weekend.

On Saturday, Tomorrow Stars thrashed NU29 6-1 and in a high-scoring match on Sunday, Young Madrid edged out Highland Spurs 4-3.

Results: Tomorrow Stars 6 NU29 1, Rangers 2 Liverpool 1,

Strikers United 1 Valencia 0, Young Madrid 4 Highland Spurs 3.
