VISITORS to the Garden Cafe at the Sherwood Garden Centre are in for a big surprise.
New owner Kara Frost who took over on April 1, has made several changes.
A cocktail evening will be held this week Friday to unveil the venue’s new menu.
The Cafe, which is fully licensed, serves everything from breakfasts to salads, from Sunday roast to delicious desserts, and caters for pensioners.
Sunday roasts includes roast beef for R70 or lamb shank for R100 with two vegetables, rice, potatoes and a homemade dessert.
New items on the menu will include steak, calamari and ribs.
Pensioners can enjoy either a chicken schnitzel or beef lasagne with salad and tea or coffee for R35, any day of the week.
Frost said what set the cafe apart was its situation in tranquil surroundings with no hustle and bustle of nearby buildings.
“Our milkshakes are also to die for and are made from Italian ice-cream and not syrup sweeteners.”
The cafe is also a function venue which is open seven days a week from 8.30am to 5pm.
“We are looking at opening in the evening in the future,” said Frost.
The Garden Cafe will also host a bridal viewing week from June 24 to July 1.
