Four Mofa teams excel

THE Motherwell Football Association (Mofa) will have at least one team in the quarterfinals of the third annual R200000 Safa-NMB MTN Games tournament being played at the Wolfson Stadium in Zwide.

After the round-robin stage of the 32-team tournament four Mofa teams – more than any other LFA – advanced to the round of 16 with two finishing at the top of their respective groups. Kuyasa United finished at the top of Group E with Real City in second place.

Last night City played another Mofa outfit, Royal Bucks who topped Group F.

The fourth Mofa team, Shining Stars who topped Group G played Peace Lovers from PE East on Tuesday evening.

The quarterfinals will be played this evening with the finals and semifinals scheduled for Saturday.

The winner of the tournament will pocket R10000, a trophy, medals, set of jerseys, 25 tracksuits and 10 match balls.

The runners-up will receive R5000, medals, and five match balls.

There will also be prizes for the player of the tournament, top goalscorer, manager of the tournament and best referee.
