An example of how quickly things can change on transfer deadline day comes with the news that BidVest Wits have re-signed Sifiso Myeni from Orlando Pirates.

Wits CEO Jose Ferreira had told Times Media Digital on Wednesday morning he did not expect any new arrivals at the club on deadline day‚ but hours later unveiled Myeni.

“Bidvest Wits is pleased to announce the signing of Sifiso Myeni. Welcome back to the family‚” the club tweeted on Wednesday.

Myeni left Wits for Pirates in 2012 and was a regular at the Soweto club until being deemed surplus to requirements by new Buccaneers coach Muhsin Ertugral.

His last game for Pirates was the 2016 Nedbank Cup final loss to SuperSport United.

The 28-year-old made his Premier Soccer League breakthrough at Wits in the 2008/09 season under Roger de Sa.

He became an instant regular‚ helping the team to the 2010 Nedbank Cup.
