Madibaz undaunted by Puks’ home success

The FNB NMMU Madibaz remain positive despite their 36-26 loss to the FNB NWU Pukke in the opening game of the FNB Varsity Cup at Potchefstroom’s Fanie du Toit Stadium on Monday.

Although the Bay team failed to avenge their semifinal defeat last year against the home side, head coach David Maidza said he had been impressed with his squad’s overall performance in the highscoring, 10-try game.

“Given that it was our first game as a team and with us having a young squad, especially upfront, I’m proud of what the boys put out,” Maidza said.
