The Chevrolet Warriors will need to strike early with the ball this morning if they are to wrest back some sort of control in their Sunfoil Series fixture against the Cape Cobras at St George’s Park.
The opening day could have turned out much worse than it did, but some lower order resistance with the bat helped pull them out of a hole.
Not that 203 all out is what the Warriors would have wanted after they were inserted when Cobras captain Dane Vilas won the toss. That total was better than the 150 for nine they found themselves in at one stage during the afternoon.
No 10 Sisanda Magala and No 11 Basheer Walters added an invaluable 53 runs for the last wicket to at least push the Warriors past the 200-mark.
