Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed that general manager Sizwe Nzimande has left the club, but the club could not provide the reasons for his departure.

“I can confirm that he has left the club and that is as far as I can comment on the matter‚” spokesman Thulani Thuswa said.

Nzimande, who has worked at the Premier Soccer League as deputy to chief executive Trevor Phillips and the South African Broadcasting Corporation as group executive for sport‚ oversaw Sundowns’ successful run in the Caf Champions League where they went on to lift the cup.

In 1997‚ he worked for the Rothmans Cup‚ which was the first cup competition in South Africa to boast prize money of R1-million.
