Top two aim to take bite out of Cobras

Ackermann, Moore determined to continue form A Solid batting foundation will be key for the Warriors in their Sunfoil Series clash against the Cape Cobras starting at Newlands this morning. Warriors openers Colin Ackermann and Eddie Moore will be looking to continue their form at the top of the order, a situation which sees them leading the scoring charts after the opening two games. Ackermann, largely thanks to the 136 he scored in the first innings of the Warriors win over the Titans in Port Elizabeth last week, leads on 237 runs. Moore, who has been very consistent, has hit three half-centuries in four innings so far to score 224 runs overall. “Colin and I were at school together at Grey in Port Elizabeth, so we have known each other for a long time,” Moore said. “We have played together at EP and are now doing well with the Warriors and we want to keep contributing positively to the team.” Moore holds the best average in the competition so far at 74.66. “It has been a good start to the season for me and I am looking forward to the match against the Cobras,” he said. “I want to continue batting well and help the Warriors get another win under the belt.” Also on Moore’s radar will be a first franchise century.
