Stick has his eyes on several player combinations

TESTING combinations will be the name of the game for the EP Kings when they clash with a Golden Lions XV in a friendly at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium tomorrow.

That was the message from Kings coach Mzwandile Stick as he looked ahead to his team’s last warm-up match before they face Griquas in their opening Vodacom Cup clash on March 21.

“This game all about testing combinations. These warm-ups are also about what we want to achieve and I am not stressed about who the Lions are going to bring to Port Elizabeth,” Stick said.

The Lions have managed to assemble a useful combination even though their top team is overseas playing Super Rugby and their Vodacom Cup team have a match against the Limpopo Blue Bulls tonight.

Stick is looking forward to seeing what sort of understanding scrumhalf Kevin Luiters and flyhalf Tony Jantjies can achieve at this early stage of the season.
