Madibaz coach still full of hope

CNMMU need to work on technical issues, says Maidza

DESPITE their Varsity Cup rugby loss against Ikeys, Madibaz coach David Maidza has lavished praise on his team and commended their effort.

The steadfast Madibaz coach has also promised that his team would come out fighting when they host the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in their next game.

After winning only one of their opening three games, Maidza knows his team cannot afford to slip up against UJ in what is expected to be a fiercely contested showdown in Port Elizabeth on Monday.

The Madibaz went down 40-13 to the University of Cape Town side at UCT on Monday in windy conditions.

“We have to give credit to UCT. They played better on the night and they handled the wind factor better than we did,” Maidza said.

After his team’s defeat against the Varsity Cup champions, Maidza remained positive about his side’s efforts and optimistic about their chances in the competition.

“I thought the boys really put in a sterling performance. Taking into account that we have a young squad, I think there really was great effort from the team,” he said.
