Death bowling expert Rusty Theron is looking forward to some serious Indian Premier League (IPL) game time after having been signed by the Rajastan Royals this week.
The 29-year-old Chevrolet Warriors star was bought by the Royals for R560 000 along with fellow South African and Lions allrounder Chris Morris.
Theron has not played in the IPL for two seasons but has represented Deccan Chargers and Kings XI Punjab in previous years.
His most recent gig was with Sunrisers Hyderabad, but although he was on the books he was overlooked for selection.
This time around, things are likely to be different as Rajasthan’s head coach is South African Paddy Upton.
“I’ve worked with him in the South Africa team in the past. Sometimes it helps with being selected and working with someone you know,” Theron said yesterday.
