St Alban’s College took the honours in the Buffalo Regatta in East London at the weekend, with the Pretoria powerhouse rowing school finishing on 350 points.
Overall, they claimed six wins on the day, while also picking up six silver medals and five bronzes to dominate the schools section of the competition again.
St Andrew’s School for Girls (Johannesburg) were in superb form this year to take second place overall and first in the girls’ section with 250 points. Their successes included seven victories, two runnerup places and three third positions.
St John’s College claimed third place overall and second in the boys’ division with four wins, four seconds and a third helping them reach 210 points.
Clarendon Girls’ did well to finish joint fourth overall, alongside St Andrew’s, on 160 points each, with Clarendon taking third place among the girls and St Andrew’s third among the boys.
Clarendon managed one win, five runner-up places and three third-placed finishes, while St Andrew’s claimed three victories, one second and five third places.
Selborne finished the regatta on 70 points, having picked up one gold medal, one silver and two bronzes.
