Rain main player in EP-NW cricket

The weather continued to play havoc with the EP-North West cricket encounters this weekend, with a wet outfield preventing any play in yesterday’s T20 match.

The three-day affair at St George’s Park ended in a draw on Saturday after rain limited the action to just an innings each.

In response to North West’s huge total of 437/9 declared, EP ended Saturday’s play on 295/9.

Eddie Moore made 60, but fast bowler Solo Nqweni top-scored with 68 not out, adding 80 with Lee-Roy Walters (37) in an unbeaten 10th wicket stand.

Warriors player Davy Jacobs was dismissed for four.
