A look at Hanro Liebenberg’s Twitter profile finds one of his most recent and glaring posts, written in Afrikaans, to be: “Now is the time, this is the place, you are the one!”
Over the past two weeks as the Bulls went through their Super Rugby pre-season with warm-up victories over the Cheetahs and English side Saracens, the one player who stood out in both matches was teenage wrecking ball Liebenberg.
If the 19-year-old’s performances are anything to go by, his time is now, the place is Loftus Versfeld and Liebenberg is the one.
Liebenberg, who captained the Bulls under-19 side to the final of the age-group Currie Cup last season, has been the lesser known of the Liebenberg brothers – the other being older sibling Wiaan, who captained the victorious Junior World Cup SA under-20 side in 2012.
