With the one-day international series against the West Indies done and dusted from a result perspective, Quinton de Kock could be available for next week’s final ODI at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
De Kock, who will join the squad today, seems to have made a miraculous recovery from a serious ankle ligament injury sustained in the first test against the West Indies in the middle of last month.
Such was the gravity of the injury, there were fears he could miss some World Cup matches as he was ruled out for six to eight weeks. But his swift recovery induced a smile from Proteas coach Russell Domingo.
De Kock’s availability will give Domingo a delightful selection headache even though his top order has churned out the runs against a listless West Indian bowling attack.
