Tuks need to end slump, says Troughton

SAMMY Troughton has stressed the need for University of Pretoria to start grinding out results to finally kick-start their season after a horrible run of results.

Tuks slumped to their third defeat in four league matches this season on Sunday, going down 1-0 at home to Bidvest Wits as their woes this year continued.

It may still be early in the season to start panicking, but Tuks should really be concerned because they have carried over last season’s appalling form into the new campaign.

They won just one of their last 10 matches last season and finished the campaign in 13th place, just five points ahead of relegated AmaZulu. It seems nothing has changed in the new campaign.

Defensively, they are no better than kids still taking a lesson in the game and it is no different upfront.

They have conceded six times so far and scored three goals, all of which came in the victory over Polokwane City last month.

“We were hoping for Lennox to settle in quicker. He scored in the Diski Challenge and hopefully it will give him a bit of lift.” -Tshepang Mailwane
