Griffiths tipped for top Kings post

FORMER South African rugby boss Edward Griffiths is being lined up as the new supremo for the EP Kings as they prepare for their re-entry into Super Rugby next year.

Kings president Cheeky Watson confirmed that his union had been in discussions with Griffiths, rated as one of the world’s top rugby administrators.

“We have had discussions with Griffiths, but I cannot say more than that,” Watson said in response to questions about the former SA Rugby Football Union (Sarfu) chief executive being linked to the Kings.

Griffiths has been chief executive at Saracens for the past seven years, but left his post this year after making the team one of the most successful in the English Premiership.
