Team found wanting after sorry display of skills against fired-up SWD

FRUSTRATED Eastern Province coach Mzwandile Stick said his team needed to ask themselves what it really meant to play for the Kings after they were humbled 31-10 by junior franchise partners the SWD Eagles on Saturday.

The defeat left Eastern Province’s Vodacom Cup dream in tatters and Stick questioning why his side had arrived at Nelson Mandela Stadium without the fire needed to subdue their neighbours.

It could have looked even worse for the Kings – it was only a late consolation try that took the home team into double figures right at the end of the match.
