Coetzee calm as Stormers face Super Rugby with lock crisis

Stomers coach Allister Coetzee is not panicking despite a looming crisis at lock before a ball has been played in Super Rugby 2015.

Eben Etzebeth and Manuel Carizza have been ruled out of the opening three games and two weeks of the Super Rugby campaign respectively through injury, while Gerbrandt Grobler has been suspended for two years for testing positive for an anabolic steroid.

The SA Institute for Drug Free Sport has confirmed that Grobler had tested positive in October during the Currie Cup tournament.

Grobler – who suffered a broken ankle last year and spent most of the season recovering – pleaded guilty on Friday, which meant no tribunal was necessary and he was immediately suspended for two years.
