GEOFF Gowar, Brian Timm, Rob Forbes and Jorge Rodriques took the honours at PEBC’s 39th Castle Lager Classic tournament at the weekend.

Curt Fischer’s team were runners-up and Evan Kent nabbed third place.

The PEBC weekly programme is:

Tomorrow morning: mixed bowls; drawn tabs-in pairs.

Friday morning: Bob Mott’s Friday morning pairs.

Saturday afternoon: tabs-in men’s, and women’s bowls. Chicken draw in the pub afterwards.

Sunday morning: arranged men’s (P Scheepers) and mixed (S Fullard) bowls; fines master: Neville Kerchhoff.

Tuesday afternoon: mixed tabs-in bowls.

The annual Burgess Cup fixture with the SA Scottish is due to take place on November 8. Add your name to the list of participants on the board.


PE MOTH is still looking for a team for the mixed novice Colts and Fillies on November 8. All novices who finished this year are eligible. Team members need not be from the same club.

WESTVIEW’S twilight bowls is due to start is due to on November 6, and continue until the end of January.

A new Saturday morning men’s trips competition sponsored by Personal Trust will be played on the fourth Saturday of every month, starting on January 24. It will be played over six months. Entries must go to Merrick Gray (076-332-9727).

Congratulations to Colleen Tolson and Mike Botha on winning the Park Drive novice mixed pairs.

There are tabs-in bowls for men (casual dress) and women on Wednesdays (9am). Other playing sessions are Saturday, tabs-in (1.45pm) and Sundays (9.30am) with cut-throat bowls on Fridays (9.15am).


THE programme at Summerwood this week is, today: club mixed pairs competition (8.45am); tomorrow: mixed social (8.45am); Saturday: mixed social (1.45pm); Monday: men’s social (1.45pm); Tuesday: women’s social (1.45pm).


THE players selected to play in invitation sides against the 2015 EP inter-district teams at Park Drive on November 16, from 8.30am, are: W Arndt, G Bergh, J Bernstein, S Brito, S de Boer, S Cherry, G Corson, L Fourie, B Gray, K Hickson, T James, A Long, D Mauer, N Mcfarland, R McGregor, B Porter, D Sherman, G Smith, N Swanepoel, G van Blerk, D Wewege J van Greunen, B van Wyk and J Wasserman.

THERE is Wednesday morning mixed bowls at Park Drive, tabs in 9am. Other playing sessions are: Tuesday 2pm, Saturday 2pm, Sunday 9.15am, and public holidays 9am. New bowlers welcome.

The weekly attendance draw was not won last week and the prize rolls over to R150.

The next draw is on Friday (6.30pm).

The 100 Club draw takes place on Friday (6.30pm). Meals will be available at R20 a portion.

THE Walmer BC programme for the week is: Today 1.45pm: men’s pairs; tomorrow 1.45pm: Chocoholic mixed competition; Friday 5pm: twilight bowls; Saturday 1.45pm, Sunday 9.15am and Tuesday 1.45pm: men’s and women’s social.


MILL Park will hold a special general meeting today (5pm) to discuss possible changes to the constitution. The AGM (6pm) will follow the special meeting.

Mill Park invite all interested bowlers to put tabs in on Wednesdays and Saturdays (2pm).
