Pokbas free-kick gives Blackpool Moodaley Cup

A FREE-KICK by Johnetton Pokbas from 25m out which curled into the top left-hand corner 15 minutes into the second half was enough to give Blackpool a 1-0 win over Fairdene in the finals of the Nafa Mala Moodaley Knockout at Gelvandale Stadium on Sunday.

Blackpool have won the coveted trophy more than any other team bar Hotspurs.

Cup finals day, which traditionally ends the Nafa season, began with a Legends match between Salt Lake and Helenvale. Salt Lake won 4-3 on penalties after the match ended 0-0.

The U10 and the Second Division finals also ended in penalties. In the U10 finals Glenville beat Park United 4-2 while Leeds beat Westham 3-2. Both matches ended 0-0 in regulation time.

SWARTKOPS United recorded their third straight win in the Zwifa Ntando Travel and Tours Premier League on Saturday when they beat Real Crusaders 3-2 at the Gal City fields.

Zwide Pirates suffered their second defeat in a row when they were beaten 2-1 by Kuyasa United.

Major Chiefs were held to a 1-1 draw by Gal City.

Golden Aces scored the biggest win of the weekend, thrashing Little Birds 4-0.
