COLLEGIATE'S water polo players have been busy with several tournaments in recent weeks, producing some good results.

The first and U15A teams competed in the Clarendon High Stayers tournament in East London at the weekend, each side picking up the bronze medal.

After winning two and losing one on the opening day, Collegiate came up against Pearson in the U15 playoffs and went down 3-0 after a hard fight.

However, the team pulled together during their final game against Clarendon U13 to achieve a 9-0 victory to end third.

The first team also qualified for the semifinals, but went down 3-2 to Clarendon. They then beat DSG 3-1 to finish third.

ýThe Collegiate U14 team travelled to Johannesburg for the Roedean tournament, which included teams from around the country.

After defeating Kingsmead, Crawford and St Peter's, Collegiate had to come from 5-2 down in the final chukka to beat St Mary's and to win their pool.

In the quarterfinals, they defeated St Anne's 4-2, but then lost to St Dominic's (Johannesburg) 3-1 in the semifinals.

In the third place playoff, Collegiate trailed Roedean 3-0 going into the final chukka, but they battled back to force a shoot-out, which they lost 3-2.

ýCollegiate came fourth out of 12 teams in the St Anne's tournament in KwaZulu-Natal.

Meghan Maartens excelled in this event to be named goalkeeper of the tournament.
