Madibaz eye top spot

VODACOM NMMU Madibaz should regain their position at the top of the Pefa Premier League log this evening when they host Hearts at their South Campus.

The students were toppled from pole position last week when they lost to Callies, who became the log's leader for the first time this season.

The students have been weakened by key players being rested for the Varsity Cup challenge, which started last week.

In the first round Madibaz and Hearts drew 1-1. This time the result should be just as close.

Callies will find it difficult to repeat their 9-0 win in the first round when they play Motherwell Academy at Victoria Park. With the return of their Safa-NMB SAB League players, Motherwell are a far better team than they were at the beginning of the season.

Victory will see Callies back at the top of the log.

Motherwell, on the other hand, must win to stay ahead of tailenders PE Homerovers.

Tonight: Vodacom NMMU Madibaz v Hearts (South Campus).

Tomorrow: PE Homerovers v Forresters (Kemsley Park), PE Defence v Warriors (EC Defence), Highbury v Central Acemates (Bridgemead), Motherwell Academy v Callies (Victoria Park).

Sunday: Kwadwesi All Stars v NMM Municipality (Kemsley Park) - Mogan Segadavan
