Fairdene toppled by battling Rovers

HIGH-RIDING Fairdene came down to earth with a bump at Finnis 2 on Saturday when they lost 2-0 to struggling Fairview Rovers in a Nafa Premier League fixture.

The newly promoted outfit have been setting the league alight since the beginning of the season and shot to the top of the log last week.

Rovers, in turn, are having their worst season in years and are just two places away from the bottom of the log.

Glenville returned to the top of the log when they defeated Saints 1-0 on Friday.

Bloom Callies, who topped the log briefly last month, struggled to beat tail-enders Chatty United 1-0 to join Glenville at the top of the table. But they trail Glenville on goal difference.

Blackpool returned to their winning ways by beating Westlake 2-1 in Windvogel.

Park United continued their march up the league table with a 4-0 win over Ebenezer.

Shamrocks were thrashed 4-0 by Helenvale.

Early log-leaders Hotspurs failed to win a match yet again when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Stardrift.

Spurs have not won any of their last eight matches. Saturday's draw was their fourth in the past two months.
