Kings to train against SA, Scots ahead of test

THE EP Kings Currie Cup squad will have training sessions against the Springboks and Scotland today to help the international teams prepare for Saturday's test showdown.

Kings chief executive Charl Crous said one group of players would train against Scotland in the morning and the remainder of the squad would be part of the Springbok training session in the afternoon.

Scotland will train at the main field at the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan University at 10.30am, while the Springboks will be in action at 3.30pm at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. Kings under-21 and Academy players also trained with the Bok squad yesterday.

"This week we will have our team training against the Boks and Scots and it will be a wonderful experience for our players to rub shoulders with the internationals," Crous said.

"Earlier this month we had Wales in Port Elizabeth and now we have another two international teams. This is an exciting time for EP Rugby."

The Kings have a break this week before they resume their build-up to the Currie Cup Premier Division season in August.

Next Friday the Kings tackle a Sharks XV at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium before further friendlies against the SWD Eagles and the Cheetahs. - George Byron
