Londt Park teams dominate women's first league
EVEN with their strength spread among three teams, Sunridge SuperSpar Londt Park are proving completely dominant in the EP women's first squash league. At the conclusion of the first half this week, their teams occupied the top three spots in the league, although Crusaders B should take over the third place once they have played their postponed fixture against Rhodes.
On Tuesday, the Londt Park sides recorded a combined 35 points out of a possible 36 in their three fixtures, with the B side well on the road to another title.
They have only dropped six points in the first half – three against Londt Park A and three against Crusaders A – and hold a telling nine-point lead over their C team.
In the men's league, Londt Park B got back on track after their thrashing by NMMU A and closed the gap on the champions to four points.
Spearheaded by Greg la Mude, the Londt Park team picked up the maximum of 12 points in seven of their eight matches and the pressure will remain on NMMU in the second half.
Jason le Roux's NMMU side dropped only five points in total and leapfrogged to the top when they outplayed Londt Park B 12-3 a fortnight ago.
